I got a tattoo yesterday.
It was of a children’s storybook character.
I never read the book in question as a child, though.
So why did I get Max from Where the Wild Things Are tattooed on my chest?

In 2008, 1,710 Australian males committed suicide (compared with 481 females), most of them in the age-range of 40-44. Over 70% of these suicides can be attributed to undiagnosed depression or associated mental illness.
In 2010, 3,300 Australian men will die as a direct result of prostate cancer. 2,650 Australian women will die of breast cancer.
If you’re anything like me (and I wouldn’t wish that on anybody…), a few things will jump out at you about these numbers.
