Recipe: Leftover duck dumplings (with mushrooms)

imageLast week I posted a duck recipe here and promised a further recipe for the unlikely leftovers.

Now, my sweat still smelling of duck every time I hit the treadmill, I give you leftover duck dumplings.

Dumplings are the choice for hipsters in Melbourne at the moment, a trend I’m only-too-thrilled to endorse and propagate. Around the city and its outskirts, restaurants such Dumplings PlusHuTong Dumpling Bar and XiaoTing Box have queues running out the door, full of ‘Twents’ with tight pants, obtuse t-shirts and high hair desperate to get involved in some steamed and panfried bliss.

And with the exception of the tight pants and high hair (and twenties-ness), I’m one of them.

Recipe: Duck for Jez

Thanks so much for the amazing comments on my previous recipe. I’m floored by the kindness, to be honest…

For me, cooking is cathartic, creative and fun. It’s also something I think is even more enjoyable when I get to share it with people.

Cooking for my friends and family makes me happy, and fuels me with a dangerous desire to push myself just a little further every time. So to those who eat, or attempt to eat, my experiments, thank you (and sorry!).

In what will hopefully be the first in a series, here is a recipe I created specifically for one of these tortured friends.
