Me

There’s not much you need to know:

  • I live in Melbourne
  • I’m older than thirty, but not too old to know all the lyrics to ‘Turtle Power’ from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie
  • I’m married to someone wonderful
  • I quit my job in May 2010 to become a full-time writer, thanks to the aforementioned wonderful ‘someone’
  • I’ve written some plays, but am finishing a novel now
  • I ‘work’ as a freelance writer, mainly in online food writing (hey, here’s one I prepared earlier…)
  • I’m the reason Cheese and Bacon Shapes still exist
  • I follow AFL, and have a love/hate relationship with the Western Bulldogs
  • I have two cats: Ellie and Jessica. I love them and they love me.
  • I am obsessed with New York. I want to be there right now.
  • I love to cook and to eat. Food has always been a hobby for me, but over the last few years has become an obsession. I see myself dedicating the rest of my life to food and writing.
  • I can’t deny being a geek. I read comics, play xbox daily, have dabbled with D&D…
  • I’ve been on stage in the past, but I think those days might be behind me. The theatre, however, isn’t.
  • I think Capricciosa with anchovies is the best pizza. No, it is the best pizza.
  • I’m a lot more scared than you think I am
  • I am not a handiman
  • I drink
  • If you’ve driven near me, chances are I’ve sworn at you
  • I once grew a moustache, and there’s barely a day when I don’t miss it
  • I find the afternoon sad, same with Autumn
  • My heroes are Jim Henson, Nick Hornby and Jamie Oliver
  • I use far too many analogies, metaphors and similies (in fact, I use them like a something uses a something else!)
